I came across some information and a photo of one of our own family " Cowboys" recently.....
John H Ratliff, a real life Texas Cowboy who was born in Texas Feb 23 1876
south of Waco Texas in Grimes county. He moved with his family north to Fisher county Texas sometime
after this picture was taken in 1917 and settled near Longworth.
Longworth, is eight miles southeast of Roby in south central Fisher County, was established in 1902 and was named for the F. M. Long Ranch.
The Ratliff family settled in that area and were farmers.
John was single and died in October of 1924 from tuberculosis.
He was the younger brother to my great-grandfather Jacob Ratliff.
